Do you ever get those days where you are just too lazy to cook something? I get them all the time! Don't get me wrong, I love to cook, but at the same time I wish all recipes were as easy as this one! My boyfriends loves mac & cheese probably as much as he loves cereal. If I weren't around, that would probably be all the would have. He's even got it down to a science as to how to cook it in the microwave. Chances of there being any leftovers are slim to none! So for this recipe, if you have any leftovers, feel free to use those. If not, just make a box and have a grilled mac and cheese sandwich with mac and cheese on the side! Haha.
Grilled Mac & Cheese Sandwich
1/2 - 3/4 cups of mac & cheese
Cheese slice
2 Pieces of bread
Butter
Over medium heat, melt some butter in a pan. Scoop 1/2 - 3/4 cups of mac and cheese to the heated up pan. Leave in pan for approximately 3 minutes. Add cheese slice on top of mac and cheese for approximately another 3 minutes. Butter piece of bread. Put buttered bread buttered side up on top of mac and cheese. Leave on top of the mac and cheese for another minute or two. Flip the mac and cheese and the bread, bread side down in the pan. Add another piece of bread to top of mac and cheese, buttered side up. Cook until golden brown. Flip. Cook other piece of bread until golden brown.
This is a bit difficult to flip, however add the mac and cheese pieces that fall out on top before adding the second piece of bread.
Optional: We added some sausage to the mac and cheese mixture as well!
